What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies, such as scripts and pixels, can read or send information from your browser without storing a cookie.

Your choices

When you first visit, a banner lets you choose Accept All, Reject All or Manage Preferences. Essential cookies are always on. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Manage consent” button shown on every page. Withdrawing stops further statistics and marketing cookies and removes the Google cookies we set; the page then reloads so that the Google tag is no longer running. You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings.

Marketing cookies (only after you accept)

Google Ads measurement runs through the same Google tag, which loads only after you accept statistics cookies. Advertising cookies are set only if you also accept marketing cookies.

Before you choose, and if you reject

Until you accept statistics cookies, and if you reject them, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Microsoft Clarity and Jetpack Stats are not loaded and send no information. Google Maps (on property pages) and Google Fonts load from Google’s servers when a page uses them, before you choose, which shares your IP address and the page address with Google. Some pages also load emoji images from WordPress.org’s servers.

If you accept statistics but not marketing

No advertising cookies are set and advertising consent is recorded as denied. However, because Google Analytics and Google Ads share one Google tag, the tag may still send Google Ads a limited, cookie-free signal about the page view and your consent choices. We do not use that signal to personalise advertising to you.

Enquiry and contact measurement

After you accept statistics cookies, we measure when an enquiry form is successfully sent, or when a WhatsApp, telephone or email contact link is selected, together with the type of contact and the property page. If you have not accepted statistics cookies, nothing is sent. We do not send your name, email address, telephone number or message to Google for this measurement. The enquiry forms and contact links work whether or not you accept cookies.

Visitor logs and counters we have switched off

We have switched off our website’s built-in visitor log and the counter of listing views on Aframena Stays. They no longer set cookies. Records created before this change are kept only until they are deleted under the site’s automatic retention setting.

Newsletter emails

Our website uses MailPoet as its newsletter subscription system. Subscriber details are stored within our WordPress website, and emails sent through MailPoet are processed by MailPoet’s sending service. If we send you a newsletter, we may record whether the email was opened or a link in it was selected.
